Nutricia has provided an update regarding the supply of its metabolic formulas for PKU. In short, there are supply-chain shortages for key ingredients for the Phenylade line which mean that restock dates range from mid-October to undetermined. The document provided by Nutricia lists suggested alternative formulas within the Nutricia line if your current formula is not available. We have reached out to Vitaflo, Cambrooke and Mead-Johnson to request updates on their current and predicted supply. The latest update from Abbot is here. Please contact your clinic to request alternatives if your current formula is unavailable. It is important to remember that efforts to obtain more formula than you currently need will reduce the supply of formula available to others in the community, and prolong shortages. An additional update is being prepared and will be shared for non-PKU metabolic formulas.
